Animals are highly sensative to the healing power of a Reiki treatment. It works using more subtle senses than the standard Reiki knowledge and skills. Animals communicate in a very different way with each other and with us. They are often not truly understood and they do not always understand our ways of communication, language, accent or actions.

Animals experience different ways of perceiving energy, often feeling it and sometimes seeing the transference of energy. They are very aware of changes in our energy fields, such as when we are sad or angry and they naturally appear to be very accepting of the calm energy of a Reiki treatment.

As with humans, Reiki may benefit animals with physical, mental or emotional issues and this holistic complementary therapy may also be of help for animals with behavioural problems that have an emotional root.

Treatments last as long as the animal is happy to receive the energy, generally around half an hour and they quite often have a lovely nap, so for this reason it is usually best to have the session at your own home or via distance healing.
